Thus many have expended a lot of energy trying not to sin all to no avail. Let me tell you the truth; you have no business TRYING not to sin. You shouldn't be doing that. You don't need to TRY to live a Holy life. What you should be doing is to concentrate on growing  up by feeding on the word of God. MESSAGE: When we call upon the name of the Lord, we are saved. We receive instant gift of Righteousness. Righteousness is not holiness but it puts upon you the ability and responsibility to be holy. Righteousness is a state of being that God translate you into when you become a Christian. It is a garment that God gives to any one who believes in Jesus and confesses Him as Lord. It is not a function of what you did or did not do. It is not a function of your effort. It is given to you as a gift. Holiness on the other hand is obedience to God. whatever you do or abstain from doing in obedience to the Word and will of God is a manifestation of holiness.
