Once you receive the Word of God with meekness, He begins to work on your mind and take charge of your mind--thought and conscience --till they function like Christ's. Soon you'd be able to discern what the will of God is in every issue of life. Remember that some few days ago, we explained that everyone has his mind subject to some force referred to as "the spirit of your mind". For the children of disobedience (the unregenerated people) it is the spirit of the Prince of the Power of the Air. Apart from being in charge of their spirit, he was also in charge of their minds, making them to think, talk and walk as they do (Eph 2:2). When you get born again, however, this spirit is dead from your spirit. God severs that body of sin of death through a process called spiritual circumcision (Col2:11-12). In John 1:1-3 we learn that He's God and all things were made by Him. In Heb. 1:3, we are told that the word of God is that by which He sustains all things. The word of God is the captain of the host of heaven. All the angels in heaven are under His command. MESSAGE Last time we learnt that we have been saved by the death and resurrection of Jesus. However, our souls must be progressively transformed by God's word till be behave like Jesus. This renewal or training of the soul is the salvation--the salvation of your soul--that God wants you to be actively involved in. It involves studying God's word under the leadership of the Holy Spirit is your responsibility. God will not read your bible for you. MESSAGE The malefactor (as he is called in our text) is actually crucified and facing his last moments on earth, he seizes the moment. In one desperate cry he turned the course of his destiny. Hi friends have you ever read these words: "I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?" (Rom 7:22-24) Now, that was Paul the mighty Apostle. His reference was to his struggle before he met Christ. He was a scholar and a strict disciplinarian. but he owned up to d paradox of life fully evident in his life. in fact he stated his greatest conflict--the conflict of laws working in him. Much as he wanted to obey the laws or God with his heart, another law was in his members making him a slave to the Law of sin. Oh How much this sincere Paul looks like most of us today. we face a lot of conflicts going on within us.  Your sincere heart must have wondered how can you be wholly free from sin, sickness and poverty.
