WHEN GOD SAYS "GO"

TEXT Judges 6:14 And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? MESSAGE When God says "GO", He has completed the job. he has performed the miracle. He only wants you to experience it. It is in your trusting and obeying the instruction that you experience the miracle already wroth. In Luke 17, when some Leprouse men prayed to Jesus for their healing, verse 14 records that " he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed." Steping out on the Word of God, doesn't make God to perform the required miracle, (He has already done it) rather it makes you to experience the miracle already performed. When God says 'GO', it doesnt matter how unqualified you are, His bidding is His enabling. All you need to do is to trust and obey Him and the glory of the Lord will be seen in your life. Take God at H...

GO IN THIS THY MIGHT (PT 3)

TEXT Judges 6:14 And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? MESSAGE The might that Gideon was instructed to go in is the presence of the Lord. This presence of God is manifested by the Holy Spirit. Once Gideon acknowledged the presence of God in His life, the Spirit of God came upon him (Judges 6:34)  When Jesus was to leave the earth, He says to His disciples that He will send us the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of truth. Now, that Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus. That is why He says that at that time He was speaking with the disciples, the Spirit was with them. But by the time He has been glorified, He will send the Spirit to dwell in all His saints. Thus, " The Lord is that Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty" (2Cor. 3:17). When the Spirit of the Lord is in you, the the Lord is in you. Thus no matter the opposition, no matter h...

GO IN THIS THY MIGHT (PT2)

TEXT: Judges 6:14 And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? MESSAGE: What the Lord is saying today is that you should let the might that God has made available to you propel you to recover your inheritance. Let the consciousness of the presence of God put springs in your steps. Let it put faith in your heart and courage in your soul. Say to yourself, "The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me" (Psa 118:6). Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10). Engage your adversary with the power God made available to you. What ever task is before you now, engage the might of God and you will come with excellence. Paul says, "... I toil, struggling with all the energy which he inspires and which works powerfully within me." (Col 1:29) Quit resting on your oars. If Gideon had sat down at home, no matter th...

GO IN THIS THY MIGHT

TEXT: Judges 6:14 And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? MESSAGE: While Gideon was still sckeptic of ever being able to engage his oposition in battle God gave him the battle instruction. God already told him that His presence with Gideon will ensure his easy victory. But he added one very key instruction that ties up everything together. He said GO IN THIS THY MIGHT What might was the Lord talking about? This might God says is the presence of the Lord by which he will defeat the enemy as though they were just one man (Judges 6:16). The Lord was saying that he should advance against his opposition being strong in the Lord. We shall explore this phrase in a couple of days, but one thing that we must get today is that we must go in the strength of God alone. There is always a tendency to engage your challenges with other forms of strength. It is wrong to engage your challenge...

THOU MIGHTY MAN OF VALOUR PT 4

TEXT: Judges 6:12-13 12  And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. 13  And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. MESSAGE Gideon had been so buffeted by his challenges that een though he knew he was communing with an angel, he found it difficult to believe him. One very key aim of the devil in whatever challenge he brings your way is to make you see things, and for that matter, yourself, from a wrong perspective. He wants to prove to you that you are a failure. He wants you to believe that you cannot be up to anything. Your challenges are only means to reaching his desired end. his desired end is that you should not believe in God. He is using those challeng...

THOU MIGHTY MAN OF VALOUR 3

TEXT: Judges 6:12  12  And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. MESSAGE: You are whom God says you are. That is your identity, that is your personality, that is the real you. Whatever you are passing through, never lost sight of that. In that area where you have been beaten down, God is making you a point of reference in Jesus name. All you need to do is agree and hold tenaciously to what God calls you. Then go ahead and take sides with the word of God by doing the word. you will put your enemies to flight in Jesus Name. The issue is not whether God wants to help you. It is whether you will agree with what God calls you. You might have had so many failed business attempts; failed examinations; failed interviews; failed relationships; failed contracts whatever failure you have experienced. Hidden within that frail body, those stories of woes and past experiences, is a mighty man of valour. It ma...

THE LORD IS WITH THEE PT 2

TEXT: Judges 6:12 12  And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. MESSAGE Challenges or failure have the sole purpose of making you loss the consciousness of God's presence. But the presence of the Lord is what guarantees victory from that habit, sin, challenge etc. When Gideon asked how he could be sure that he would be able to save Israel, "the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man."  Even when you walk through your most gloomy situation, the valley of the shadow of death, the Lord is with you (Psalm 23). Even when you think that you are so far from God or that you are in such a state that God abhors, God is still there waiting to be permitted to bring you out. There is no place more unlikely to have God's presence as hell. But when God's child walks through hell, God is still there with him. David says, " Whither shall I go fro...

THOU MIGHTY MAN OF VALOUR 2

THE LORD IS WITH THEE TEXT: Judges 6:12 12  And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. MESSAGE If you have given your life to Jesus, know this one thing that the Lord is with you. No matter what you are going through now, no matter what you have been through, do not loose sight of that. It is very necessary for victory. Until Gideon was sure of the presence of God, he dared not face the midianites in battle. The presence of the Lord ensures instant deliverance. The scriptures says, " where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty ". (2Cor 3:17). When God is with a man, nothing can successfully challenge or withstand him (Joshua 1:5). Having the presence of God in your life is how to be a man of valour. It ensures continuous victory and success. Now Jesus personally said to us "... Lo , I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world ". ( Mat 28:20 ). God is with you no matter who, or ...

MESSAGE : The Israelites were under oppression at the hand of the Midianites. One unique thing about these oppressors was that they had no problem with the Israelites toiling to make ends meet. But once it was time for them to reap the fruit of their labour, these Midianites came and disposessed them of their harvest. They came in such number and force that the Israelites had to vacate their own land and go to hide in caves. You may be experiencing the same challenge. You might have had so much experience in failure at the edge of success...
