THOU MIGHTY MAN OF VALOUR PT 4

TEXT: Judges 6:12-13

12  And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.
13  And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

MESSAGE
Gideon had been so buffeted by his challenges that een though he knew he was communing with an angel, he found it difficult to believe him. One very key aim of the devil in whatever challenge he brings your way is to make you see things, and for that matter, yourself, from a wrong perspective. He wants to prove to you that you are a failure. He wants you to believe that you cannot be up to anything. Your challenges are only means to reaching his desired end. his desired end is that you should not believe in God. He is using those challenges to build up a stronghold of argument in your heart so that even when you go to church or read your bible and the Word of God says that God is with you, you will quikly argue like Gideon " But God says you are more than conquerors. He calls you a success. He calls you a mighty man of valour. Now whose report will you believe?

It is the report that you believe and confess that will eventually manifest in your life. That is how it works. You are the umpire or referee in your life. If you agree with the word of God, you will be what he says and vice versa. While God speaks through his word, to your spirit, the devil speaks through the to your senses. You may have been married for years without children. Then the doctors say you you have no ovary or you have low sperm count and your neighbours call  you barren. You might be  feeling pain in your abdomen and the doctor's report says you have cancer. Now those are the argument of the devil. As long as they stay in your heart and as long as your mouth confesses them. But if you stand by the word, you are coming with a testimony.

God has called you His son and whatever is born of God overcomes the world (1John 5:4). You are a mighty man of valour by the very fact of your being born again. No matter what shape size or dimension the challenge is, in as much as it is in this world, you overcome it as a matter of course. You have no business being down. "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us" (Rom. 8:37)

Now the element in the child of God that manifest his victory is his faith. The bible says "this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith". (1John 5:4). Faith is believing God's word and shapening our talk and behavior by it. Once Gideon believed what God called him, his victory was sealed and soon it manifested in the physical
