SEIZE THE MOMENT 2: HOW TO ESCAP JUDGEMENT

Image
TEXT: Luke 23:39-42   39  And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.  40  But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?  41  And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.  42  And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. MESSAGE The malefactor (as he is called in our text) is actually crucified and facing his last moments on earth, he seizes the moment. In one desperate cry he turned the course of his destiny. He is on the brink of everlasting torment in hell. But just before he falls into eternal doom, one sentence saves him. He calls to the Lord. He didn't have the time to weep over his sins and the consequence. He had an audacity of faith and dared to ask for life in paradise. Guess what? He g...

HARVEST OF MERCY

TEXT: Hos 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you MESSAGE : Many people complain that they do not get result. They seem to be enstranged from the mercies of God. When you tell them God is a merciful God, deep down in their hearts, they do not agree with you because they have not exprienced God's mercy. All they know of God is judgement. They do their best at things and not get result. They pay tithe and things seem to get tighter. They give offering and they keep suffering. They sow and don't reap. Is there a way out?  Well there is. The reason why you are workin like an elephant and eatin like an ant is becuase you are not reaping in mercy. It is the mercy of God that makes us have a bountiful harvest (Rom 9:16). When you reap in mercy, the little you put your hand will yeield aboundantly. How can you ensure that you reap in mercy? God says to sow in...

THUS SAITH THE LORD, ''I WILL HELP YOU''

Image
TEXT: Isaiah 41:8-13 8  But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. 9  Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. 10  Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 11  Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. 12  Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. 13  For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. Its the beginning of another new year. Glo...

All Things Are Yours

ALL THINGS ARE YOURS 1Cor 3:21-22  21  Ther your good.or 3:21-22  21  Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;  22  Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; On Friday, we saw how that the mercy of God makes the difference in a man's life. Success is not a function of your efforts, it is a function of God's mercy. We also saw that we the children of God are objects of mercy. But one more thing on mercy, God's mercy has put all of God's resources at our disposal. Therefore He says, "all things are yours. (1Cor 3:21-22). That sure blows my mind. All thing! And as if to say “for the avoidance of doubt”, he added,  “All things…whether life, or death, or things present or things to come”. He says all things are yours. They are put under your authority. No matter what it is, no matter what condition it is, you can make them work for your advantage because ...

God's Mercy Makes the Difference

Bible reading: Luke 5:1-7 Beloved, on Monday we started discussing on this scripture. May we revisit it again to extract some honey from this divine rock. Remember Peter's condition? He toiled all night but his skills, expertise and timing yielded no fruit. We do not downplay the fact that many factors, ranging from physical to spiritual, could have been responsible for Peters failure and disappointment. Whatever was the reason for Peter’s failure in his endeavor, it definitely proves the veracity of the word of God to the end that success is not a product of man’s effort "I returned, and I saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all."(Ecclesiastes 9:11). Now that leaves a man totally helpless as he cannot determine what when or how he can be successful. The probability of success would b...
