HARVEST OF MERCY

TEXT: Hos 10:12
Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you

MESSAGE:
Many people complain that they do not get result. They seem to be enstranged from the mercies of God. When you tell them God is a merciful God, deep down in their hearts, they do not agree with you because they have not exprienced God's mercy. All they know of God is judgement. They do their best at things and not get result. They pay tithe and things seem to get tighter. They give offering and they keep suffering. They sow and don't reap. Is there a way out?  Well there is.

The reason why you are workin like an elephant and eatin like an ant is becuase you are not reaping in mercy. It is the mercy of God that makes us have a bountiful harvest (Rom 9:16). When you reap in mercy, the little you put your hand will yeield aboundantly. How can you ensure that you reap in mercy?

God says to sow in righteousness. To sow in rightousnes means first of all that you must be righteous. the only way to be righteous is to believe that Jesus is raised from the dead and confess Him as Lord. Then believe that God accepts you and sees you as perfect based on the rightousness of Jesus and not on anything you do (Rom 10:9-11).

Now, once you have become righteous in this way, sowing in righteousnss now involves making sure that whatsoever you do, you do it in accordance to thte word of God trusting the faithfulness of God to reward you and multiply your seed sown by grace. The reason why the mercy of God seem far away from many is because they trusted in their own strength, wisdom or any other thing apart from God. People doing that are not sowing in righteousness. they are only plowing iniquity  All they will reap is lie (Hoseah 10:13).

The scriptures says, "vain is the help of man" (Psalm 108:12). Thus, if  any man trust on anything that is not God, he is considering lying vanities, and as Jonay says, such person has already forsaken his mercy (Jonah 2:8). He cannot recieve mercy from God. God also says "...Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he...shall not see when good cometh....Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, shall not see when heat cometh" (Jer. 17:5-8)

Dearly beloved, come back to trusting in the Lord with all your heart. lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path. He will make you reap in mercy. (Prov. 3:5&6)
