THE VOICE OF PRAISE

TEXT: Psalm 100
Today, we are exploring another very potent way of voicing God's word. It is praise The power of God is invested in the word of God. But that power is released when voice is given to the Word. When God speaks His word, it comes with power to do His bindings (Isaiah 55:8-11). It is also given to God's children who are made in the image and likeness of God to speak God's word for the purpose of releasing the power encoded therein. Now when we so voice God's word, we are exercising faith for the Spirit of faith is manifested by our speaking based on our believing in the words of God (2Cor 4:13). But like we have seen for the past few days, there are principles or ways to properly speak the word of God to have the desired effect. One of them is prayer. But at most times, faith can be better expressed through praise

If somehow, you met a very wealthy man who became your friend and he got so pleased with you that he promised you a brand new car which is to be delivered to you in a week time; but at the interim permits you to visit him often, what are the likely things you will say to him when you go to His house--to ask him for the car? Obviously not. You'd rather thank him again and again. God's word to us are full of wonderful promises and when we praise Him for them, we hasten the manifestation. Now, that shows faith in He who has promised. So voicing God's word through praise is a a manifestation of faith. It shows that you believe God's word and promises. It is the substance (or title deed) of things hoped for (God's promises); and the evidence of things (What God says of you as a present day reality) that are not seen (not yet physically manifest). (Heb 11:1)

Praise provoked the manifestation of blessings given and promises hoped for. Psalm 67:5 shows us that when the people praise God, the earth shall yield her increase. The earth has been blessed to make things planted grow. But it will do so when the people praise God. God promised to help the Israelites against their enemies. But it was when they started praising Him that he manifested that by setting ambushment against the enemy. (2Chron 20:27). Jesus  multiplies two fish and five loaves to feed a multitude only after ''he had given thanks" (John 6:11)

Verse 3 of our text shows us the root of the attitude of praise. True praise comes out of our acknowledgement of God, our state and our relationship with him we must
Know ye that the LORD he is God:
it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
It is the will of God for us to praise Him always. The His word will prevail in our lives

Like my beloved daughter said while teaching this morning;
"You can pray amis but you can never praise amis"

PRAYER
