KNOWING GOD FOR EXPLOITS


TEXT:2Cor 4:6
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Yesterday, we saw that the secret of doing exploits is in knowing the LORD. Someone may ask, How do I get to know God? You can know God by knowing Jesus. John 1:18 says " No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." This is because ... [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God...(Col 1:15) and " in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." (Col 2:9).
Thus if you want to know God, the only way is to to know Jesus. He encourages us to learn of Him. But the question now turns on how do we know Jesus. Now hear what He says " Search the scriptures...they are they which testify of me" The scriptures testify of Jesus. Now that is the first step to knowing Jesus--searching the scriptures. But you can't just stop there. The Jews did this but never got any farther. Jesus testified that they do search the scriptures but they never came to him even though they know that they could get life in the scripture which testify of Jesus (John 8:38-40)
But as for us who have come to Jesus, as we study the word of God, let the word form the basis of your communicating with God. Respond to the word of God in prayer. Testify and confess what He says about you and worship Him for what He says about Himself. Rejoice in all these things and stand on His promises and provisions to appropriate them for yourself and to resist the devil. That is how to progressively know Jesus and for that matter, God. As you proceed this way, exploits is inevitable. It will be the normal occurrence of your life. Amen!
PRAYER
Thank God for giving you the opportunity to come to the knowledge of God
declare that you have the grace and ability to know God
Ask God to open the eyes of your understanding tot he knowledge of Him and of His Christ
Pray for the Church that we might grow in the knowledge of God manifesting His image and glory, doing exploits thereby
Pray for the Nation that God will give our leaders wisdom to properly lead us giving us peace and progress
pray for me too that i may grow in grace and obtain more mercy
