THUS SAITH THE LORD, ''I WILL HELP YOU''

Image
TEXT: Isaiah 41:8-13 8  But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. 9  Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. 10  Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 11  Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. 12  Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. 13  For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. Its the beginning of another new year. Glo...

THE SPIRT OF FAITH

THE SPIRIT OF FAITH TEXT: 2 Cor 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak It doesn't matter what the devil flings on your way, it doesn't matter how many demons are unleashed against you. One thing is certain, Faith is the victory that overcomes the world. In as much as that enemy is of this world, your faith contains your victory. Jesus has already won the victory. Christians are not in a battle we are in a victory procession. We're going everywhere manifesting the victory of Jesus.  James 5:4 says, ''this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.'' Many people know this truth but don't know why still have defeats. You need to know how to engage the spirit of faith. The Spirit of Faith refers to the vital principle or the essence of faith. The essence or the anatomy of a genuine faith is herein laid bare. True faith is speaking as...

GOD WANTS YOU TO KNOW HIM

GOD WANTS YOU TO KNOW HIM TEXT: John 10:21-22 21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.  22  All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. Many of us want to know God and His will for our lives. But it seems difficult for them. People keep asking me how they can study the word of God and understand. To some dear brethren, the word of God seems like a closed book. But it does not have to be so. God wants to be known by you. He knows that eternal life consists in your knowing him and Jesus whom He has sent (John 17:3). He sacrificed the life of His son to give u this eternal life. He cannot then be happy seeing you being cheated out of it by ignora...

HOW SHALL THESE THINGS BE?

TEXT: Luke 1:34-35 34  Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?  35  And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. Long time ago in Bethlehem, so the Holy Bible says, a young virgin who has never known a man received a strange visitor who turned out to be an Angel who came to tell her strange and impossible things. How could a virgin give birth to a child without having any form of sexual relationship? But such was the message that this young girl--who was likely not up to 25 years old--received. It was evidently and impossible arrangement. But the angel explained a process. He said, " The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee". When the Holy Ghost comes upon you, every impossibility becomes possible. I don't know w...

WORKING OUT YOUR SALVATION

TEXT: Phil 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Many people misapply this scripture. They are at loss whether the work of salvation done by Jesus was complete or not. You see, Man is a spirit. The devil targeted this spirit and disconnected him from, the source of his life through sin. That's what God calls death. God warned Adam against it. he said, ''for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.'' (Gen. 3:17) and Adam died just as God warned. The effect was that Adam could no longer stand, he presence of God. He fled and ran from the sound of His coming (Gen. 3:8-10) Jesus gave His divine life to reconnect us so that as many as believe in Jesus may be reconnected to this Eternal Life and have Him for himself (John 3:16). This salvation from death was perfected by Jesus. It does not need your impute. Just believe and ...

TITHE AND THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH

Mal. 3:8-10 If you know anything about land and land ownership especially in the African traditional system and in the feudalism system, you will definitely remember  that when a person say the king or a land owner leases his land to another, that other person is under liability to pay rent either in cash or in kind by sending some part of the produce of the land to the land owner. This is the means of showing loyalty to the land owner and to state that the tenant or lessee acknowledges the landowner as his landlord. In the present day we remember the concept of taxation. Whenever a tenant or lesee refuses to pay such homage on the land and matter he is deemed contesting land with the landlord This is what tithing is all about. Therefore, tithing is an act of faith. You remember that you have been redeemed from the kingdom of the devil and you are now in the kingdom of God (Col 1:12-13) which is a land flowing with milk and honey. It is the spiritual Canaan. It is the land of God...

The Weapon Called Prophecy

Text 1Tim 1:18 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightiest war a good warfare There's a revelation about prophesy that many Christians don't  yet understand. Firstly, there are two aspects of prophecy. The first is called foretelling which means declaring the will or counsel of God concerning the future by the Spirit of God now . The second is forth telling. Which refers to speaking God's counsel into manifestation by the spirit of God. Many people today see prophesy as only foretelling. But that's not all that there is about prophesy. Prophesy also includes declaring the will of God which is the testimony of Jesus  as a present day reality. When you do so you are engaging what Rev 19:11 calls the Spirit of Prophesy. Immediately, that Spirit of Prophecy goes into action to manifest what you say. In Genesis 1, We see that in the creation morning the Spirit was on ground incubating the...

ENGAGING THE GREATEST CONQUEROR FOR YOUR BATTLES

Text Rev. 19:12-14  12  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.  13  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.  14  And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. Beloved, let me introduce you to one awesome personality. He's the strongest being in the universe and all realms.  He's called THE WORD OF GOD. The word of God carries the power of God. In John 1:1-3 we learn that He's God and all things were made by Him. In Heb. 1:3, we are told that the word of God is that by which He sustains all things. The word of God is the captain of the host of heaven. All the angels in heaven are under His command. In Psalms 103:20 we see that the angels who excel in might hearken to the Voice of the Word of God. Can you see that the Word of God is all powerful? Not...

Repentance from Dead Works

REPENTANCE FROM DEAD WORKS [RELOADED] Text; Heb 6:1, Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God The study is a call to self examinations. As God's children, we are required to be perfect. This refer to moral soundness and maturity. We are called and accepted by God just as we are  but we are not to remain as we are. We must grow up in character and in learning. As is normal with God, if he required something of us, he tells us how to achieve it. Now God is showing us that the way to perfection is to jettison dead works. So what are dead works? Dead works simply put, are works that have no life in them. You see, the Word of God is life (John 6:63). Therefore, whatever you do that is not motivated or inspired by the Spirit and Word of God is a dead work. As Christians, the day you gave your life to Jesus, you died and the only life you live now is t...

All Things Are Yours

Image
ALL THINGS ARE YOURS 1Cor 3:21-22  21  Ther your good.or 3:21-22  21  Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;  22  Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; On Friday, we saw how that the mercy of God makes the difference in a man's life. Success is not a function of your efforts, it is a function of God's mercy. We also saw that we the children of God are objects of mercy. But one more thing on mercy, God's mercy has put all of God's resources at our disposal. Therefore He says, "all things are yours. (1Cor 3:21-22). That sure blows my mind. All thing! And as if to say “for the avoidance of doubt”, he added,  “All things…whether life, or death, or things present or things to come”. He says all things are yours. They are put under your authority. No matter what it is, no matter what condition it is, you can make them work for your advantage because ...

God's Mercy Makes the Difference

Bible reading: Luke 5:1-7 Beloved, on Monday we started discussing on this scripture. May we revisit it again to extract some honey from this divine rock. Remember Peter's condition? He toiled all night but his skills, expertise and timing yielded no fruit. We do not downplay the fact that many factors, ranging from physical to spiritual, could have been responsible for Peters failure and disappointment. Whatever was the reason for Peter’s failure in his endeavor, it definitely proves the veracity of the word of God to the end that success is not a product of man’s effort "I returned, and I saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all."(Ecclesiastes 9:11). Now that leaves a man totally helpless as he cannot determine what when or how he can be successful. The probability of success would b...

How to Turn Your failure to a Monumental Success

Image
Good morning beloved, may I share with you, our text in church yesterday? It may be good for your meditation Luke 5:1-7 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And the...

PRAISE IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR

Image
TEXT: Act 16:22-26  And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.  MESSAGE You might just be going through some challenges now that seem to be too hard for you. The enemy might have you in a particular type of prison, physical or spiritual. You can end your jail term just now! You might be in your midnight hour when everything seem gloomy. Friends there's good news. Paul and Silas were in their mid night hour, but the...
