THUS SAITH THE LORD, ''I WILL HELP YOU''


TEXT: Isaiah 41:8-13
8  But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. 9  Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. 10  Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 11  Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. 12  Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. 13  For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Its the beginning of another new year. Glory to God we made it! We are counted among the living. No matter the condition the new year met you, give praise to God for this year comes with hope and great expectations.

A time like this presents a wonderful opportunity for people round the world to take stock of their lives, and businesses and re strategize. You might have looked into the year and seen great mountains before you. You might have seen challenges and oppositions.

The Almighty God has promised the Seed of His covenant friend his help, strength and stability. He had a covenant with Abraham to be a covenant friend. The meaning is that Abraham and his seed are entitled to God and all that He has as a matter of right. This covenant is the reason why God was ruthless with Egypt when bringing out Israel (Exod 6:6-8). He went to battle for them. He prospered them. All because of the covenant. Now He's promising the seed of Abraham all round help, strength and stability.

Now the scriptures say ''And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise'' (Gal 3:29). This promises therefore are for you. The Lord is your helper, your strength and stability. No opposition can succeed against you. Your enemies have Jehovah Sebaoth, the God of war for their contender. God promises you His strength. Imagine working with the strength of God. Your success will be unusual. He promises to hold you up. No matter the wind, whether spiritual, economic or whatever, God is your stability. You have nothing to fear.

If however you are not a part of this covenant yet, just believe that God has raised Jesus from the dead, confess that Jesus is Lord and accept him into your life. You will  instantly become an heir of Abraham and a Son of God. All these benefits shall be yours.

Thank God for His promised help

Present your plans, and challenges to Him and ask Him to Help you

Ask for His protection according to a his promise

Pray for the church of God

Pray for your nation

Pray for me too.
