I WILL HELP YOU
Hi friends have you ever read these words:
"I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?" (Rom 7:22-24)
Now, that was Paul the mighty Apostle. His reference was to his struggle before he met Christ. He was a scholar and a strict disciplinarian. but he owned up to d paradox of life fully evident in his life. in fact he stated his greatest conflict--the conflict of laws working in him. Much as he wanted to obey the laws or God with his heart, another law was in his members making him a slave to the Law of sin.
Oh How much this sincere Paul looks like most of us today. we face a lot of conflicts going on within us. Your sincere heart must have wondered how can you be wholly free from sin, sickness and poverty. Our experiences seem to fight our beliefs. Our greatest controversy is not with an unbeliever but with our own minds. How can God say I'm a saint, you may wonder, when I operate in sin. Why do I still do the things I know are wrong and for that matter even loath? How many times have you wept the bitter words, "I have done it again!" and those nights you sat and wondered "how could I?" Those holier-than-thou pastors in the christian cycles just make things worse. They make it seem as If u really love sinning. But have you not done your best? Have you not made new year resolutions? Have you not bound yourself by oaths and pledged "never to do it again?" The truth is you want to stop doing wrong BUT HOW?!?!!
Thus saith d Lord, "My grace is sufficient for you. My strength is perfect in weaknesses. (2cor 12:9) . When God called you you unto holiness, he never left it to you alone to work it out. He said, without me you can do nothing. Now he is saying "My strength works better for you when you acknowledge your weaknesses and inability to help yourself" Look up to Him in daily childlike trust express in the lips of faith to Him that says with the ultimate authority "...I will help you" (Isaiah 41:10-12)
Dearly beloved, the promise of Jesus the Christ are still true. In Him we shall find rest. This rest seem so elusive and yes it is--It is evasive everywhere else. But in Him it is ubiquitous. Yes in Christ alone is rest and peace.
True, we have failures in the past, weaknesses in the present, and fear of unfaithfulness in the future. But thus says the Lord "I will help you, yea I will help you....and sin shall no longer have dominion over you because you live no longer under the law but in the grace of Christ" (Isaiah 41:10-12 and Rom 6:14). You were saved by grace because you had faith in Him. You shall be preserved and helped by grace as you live by faith in Him
If you've not yet met Him, here's your opportunity. He's standing right where you are. You just need to confess Him as Lord of your life and believe in your heart that He died for your sins and was resurrected by the power of God. Pray this prayer.
"Lord Jesus, thank you for your word. Almighty God, I believe that Jesus your Son died for my sins. I believe that you raised Him from the dead. I now accept and confess Him Jesus as the Lord of my life. I believe that I am now saved based on the authority of your word. I accept eternal life into my spirit. I'm now a child of God. Thank you Father in Jesus Name."
May grace be increases in your life for exploits. May Gods strength cover for your weaknesses. AMEN
