VISION


TEXT: Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

 MESSAGE
Vision generally refers to the ideal or goal towards which one aspires. A clear vision gives focus and produces motivation which ensures effectiveness and efficiency. If you are a leader, one very good way to gain influence and motivate your followers is to communicate a clear vision. Vision helps a man to work smart and not just working hard, dissipating energy on irrelevant things. When a man does not have vision everywhere looks like his destination. He does anything and everything and at the end of the day he finds that he was simply busy for nothing.

Vision gives us discipline. Our text says that where there is no vision the people perish. That word translated as "perish" by the KJV is actually from the Hebrew word 'pâra' which means 'to loosen' or ' loosened of restraint'. So a another translation puts it thus: "In no vision the people shall be unruly" (SLV). That is to say, people misbehave where there is no vision. Can you now understand where to look to when your followers, children, spouse, workers etc begin to misbehave? Its most likely that you've not been communicating clear vision to them. If we must be fruitful and do exploits vision is a prerequisite. It will help us to focus and stick to plan. But now, How do we get vision.

God has clearly says, " a person’s life is not his to control, nor does a person establish his way in life" (Jeremiah 10:23 ISV). Look unto God for your vision in life. In fact, the word translated as vision in our text is from the Hebrew word " châzôn" It means an oracle, prophecy or divine communication by which a person or a people is directed. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Pro 3:5-6)


PRAYER
Thank you Father for directing my life by your word

Father I repent of running my life without vision

Father I ask that you will show me your will for my life and for this year

Lord make your will clearer to your church and help us to pursue your vision

Father give this nation leader that will pursue your vision
