DEALING WITH DEPRESSION AND SORROW
TEXT: Psalms 43:5
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
MESSAGE:
I'd tell you the only reason why you are weighed down. All the while you have been looking down. That's why you were weighed down. You were looking at yourself. You kept considering yourself. The one that failed in his commitment to God kept saying "how could I?" You think it is godly sorrow. But godly sorrow should only lead to repentance and once you have repented, any other sorrow thereafter is not godly but deadly (2Cor 7:10). It is the idolization of the self which in itself is a sin! He who thinks he has gone through a lot cries "why me?" He is weighed down because he thinks he's alone in his trial. He forgets that God is in it with him not
allowing him to be tested beyond his strength (1Cor 10:13). He forgets that God is waiting to stablish, settle and strengthen him (1Pet 5:10). He forgets that God can turn the trial into His salvation through prayers and the supply of the Spirit (Phil 1:19). He forgets that all things work together for his good being a child of God. The one who thinks his prayers has gone unanswered has not humbled himself to learn from God how to receive for God has given us all things and if ever we ask for anything that we seem to need, God answers immediately. We just need to learn to receive answers.
Friend, You have looked and gone down enough. Its time to start going up so, look up. Look unto the author and the finisher of your faith. Understand that he will come through for you. He said he will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb. 13:5). Start looking up to God. He is the health of your countenance. They that look unto him are never put to shame , rather they are lit up and the glory of God's countenance radiates on them (Psalm 34:5). As you look up, God's glory will cover your shame and your latter end shall be better than your former. Even if you fell, don't stay fallen. The righteous may fall seven times but he rises again seven times (Prov. 24:16). At the final analysis, the righteous will be standing. He that is born of God overcomes the world (1John 5:4). It is in your DNA (Divine Nature Attributes) to overcome the world.
It doesn't matter what came over you, what overcame you, what comes against you, or what will come. You are programmed and destined to win because the faith of God that overcomes the World is in you.
LET US PRAY
Thank you Father for you are my God and the health of my countenance
I declare that God is the author and the finisher of my faith.
I look up to God today and I am filled with the radiance of His countenance. I shout for joy for I am walking in the light of Gods countenance. I am conscious of your presence with me. No matter what I pass through, Godnis with me always
Glory to God! I receive from my Heavenly father, beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
I command the spirit of depression, sadness and sorrow to depart from me and my environment now and forevermore in Jesus Name
Father, Since Your power is so glorious, I pray for your church that we may be strengthened with strength of every kind, and be prepared for cheerfully enduring all things with patience and long-suffering and joy
I pray for the nation that the veil that is spread over the eyes of this nation might be removed. Cause us to see the light of your glorious gospel
