SPIRIT-BASED PLANNING AND STRATEGY 11 (THE MIND OF CHRIST)
Beyond the fellowship with the Word of God is fellowship with the Spirit of Christ. The first thing about fellowship the Spirit of Christ is the consciousness of His presence. You need to first and foremost be conscious of the Presence of the Holy Spirit with and in you for you to be able to fellowship with Him. Sure, this is very difficult for some people whose lives are ruled by feelings and what they experience through their five physical senses.
You should not be like that. Your life should be ruled by the Word of God. That is the exact reason why we started with understanding and submitting to the Lordship of the Word of God. Thus, no matter what you see, feel, hear or experience in any way, let the Word of God be the only thing that matters to you. Whatever negates the Word of God is not worthy of your consideration. Now, Jesus has already assured you in His Word that "...the Father, ...shall give you another Comforter [the Holy Spirit], that he may abide with you FOR EVER" (John 14:16 emphasis supplied). .
It doesn't matter what you do, hear or feel, the Holy Spirit does not depart from you. Not even sin makes him to abandon you. Even when you feel disappointed in yourself or it seems God is not hearing your, He's still with you.
But, you see, sin will make your conscience to tell you that you're not worthy of His holy presence. So, just like it did to Adam and Eve, sin make you to run away from God's presence. That is why you must avoid sin so that you can maintain a pure conscience. Otherwise, a defiled conscience would cripple your faith (1Tim 1:19) and you'd find yourself cringing away from the presence of God even though, His hands of fellowship are stretched towards you all the while.
Nevertheless, if you have sin, quickly repent and receive the forgiveness that God has already given you in Christ Jesus. Purge your conscience with the blood of sprinkling and the pure water of the Word of God and return to the consciousness of His presence (Heb 10:22). God is with you always no matter what.
LET US PRAY
Take out a moment of silence; Now, forget about all worries, thoughts and wishes. Then, say from your inmost being: "Father, I know you are here by your Holy Spirit. I know you love me and your spirit is in me right now. I am never alone, you are always with me. Yes, even now, you are with me. you hear me now. You love me and are ready to teach me. Now take me deeper in love and fellowship with you. Thank you Lord in the Name of Jesus
Pray that the church of Christ will move into the realm of intimate fellowship with the Spirit of Christ
